The Co-Owners of Oxbow
Meet Wendy & Bart
Bart and Wendy Morris moved to Missoula in the summer of 2006, fell in love with the garden city and Montana, and feel lucky to call it home. In 2014, they fulfilled a life-long dream and started Oxbow Cattle Company.
Wendy was raised on the Tenny Ranch in northeastern Colorado; cattle, horses, and the ranching lifestyle is deeply engrained in her. Wendy is an Anesthesiologist practicing in Missoula since 2006. At Oxbow, she uniquely combines these two aspects of her life; being a physician with a passion for health and wellness applied not only to the horse and cattle health at the ranch but also to the health aspects of the beef we produce. Wendy is also a rancher with a passion for horsemanship, stockmanship and regenerating the land in our care.
Bart grew up working on local ranches in the Big Horn Basin of Wyoming. He attended the University of Wyoming where he got a degree in Wildlife Biology and Range Management. He spent the next 8 years working for the Wyoming Game and Fish trapping Grizzly bears, working as a game warden, biologist and access coordinator. In 2006, Bart and Wendy made a big life change and moved to Missoula, where Bart started working for Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks as the Regional Access Coordinator. Bart’s various work experiences, his love for the land and animals mixed with his desire to make an ecological difference gave him the confidence to quit a steady job and start Oxbow Cattle Company in 2014. The past 8 years Bart has devoted his life to regenerating the land he is lucky enough to care for, becoming the best stockman and horseman he can be and producing the healthiest and most delicious grass-finished beef possible for his community.
